|
|
November is the time of year when we all take the time to celebrate the things we are thankful for, so I thought it was only fitting to use the November kit to create a gratitude album!!
For the base of the album I used 9 - 4x6 pieces of chipboard. (You might want to vary the amount of pages you use based on how many pictures you want to use. The instructions below are based on using 6 photos) And 2 binder rings.
Making the cover:
You will need:
a 3" x 6" and a 1" x 6" piece of different patterned papers
The black ribbon
The mini alphas
The white Lily Bee flower
A button
Some bling
Step 1 - Adhere the bigger piece of patterned paper to the top of the chipboard and then the smaller piece to the bottom.
Step 2 - Adhere a 7" piece of the ribbon over the seam of the two pieces of paper. Wrap the edges around the backside of the cover.
Step 3 - Using the mini alphas add your title to the bottom of the cover.
Altering the flower:
Step 1 - Cut a slit in the backside of the flower.
Step 2 - Slide in the ribbon. If you've ever had to re-string a hooded sweatshirt or sweat pants it's the same concept.
Step 3 - Attach a button to the center of the flower and then add some bling for fun!
Step 4 - Attach the flower to your cover using a lot of liquid glue (I used a lot more than this image shows. It's stuck on there good!)
Creating the Filler Pages:
You will need:
6 - Photo's of things you are grateful for
6 - 4" x 4" pieces of the lined Lily Bee Paper (if you don't use an edge punch you can use
6 - 2" x 4" pieces of assorted Lily Bee Papers
6 - 1" x 4" pieces of assorted Lily Bee Papers
Step 1 - First choose some 4x6 pictures of things you are grateful for and adhere them to one side of the chipboard.
Step 2 - Cut your papers to the dimensions listed above.
Step 3 - Using an edge punch cut two sides of the 4" x 4" pieces of paper. (I used Fisker Apron Lace. You can skip this step if you don't have an edge puncher and just use straight edges).
Step 4 - On the back side of 5 of your pictures and one blank piece of chipboard adhere the cut pieces of paper. I started with the two smaller ones and then added the middle piece last to make sure everything fit nicely.
Creating the titles for the pages:
Step 1 - I used a 1 1/2" scalloped circle punch and a 1 1/4" circle punch. You can use any shape to make the title spots if you don't have these punches.
Step 2 - Adhere the title spots somewhere on your picture that works.
Step 3 - I added some ribbon using staples and some Prima centers to my spots.
Creating the Intro Page
Step 1 - (I meant to create the intro pages the same as the filler pages, but I goofed and punched out the wrong piece of paper at first with the edge punch). If you want to do this correctly, follow the steps for creating the filler pages above.
Step 2 - Adhere the papers from Step 1 to the front side of the piece of chipboard that has the papers attached from above, but no image.
Step 3 - Add the rubon "Live the life you love..." And a decorative rubon to the corner. (I also added a gratitude card from a set of Wayne Dyer cards I have).
Creating the closing page
Step 1 - Adhere a 4x6 piece of the lined Lily Bee paper to the back of the photo that is still blank.
Create inside of the cover and back cover
To cover the inside of my cover I just used a 4x6 piece of paper.
To create the back cover I covered the back side with the same paper I used for my main piece on the front cover. And then covered the inside with the same piece of paper I covered the inside of the front cover.
Finishing the inside of the album
Step 1 - Add titles to the title spots using the tiny alpha and handwriting.
Step 2 - Journal what you are grateful for.
Step 3 - On the closing page make a list of more things you are grateful for that you didn't include in the main part of the album.
Binding the album.
Step 1 - Using a hole punch, punch a hole about 1" from the top and 1/2" from the side.
Step 2 - Repeat step one, but measure from the bottom.
Step 3 - Attach to jump rings in this order (Cover, intro page, filler pages, closing, cover).
Pictures of the full album will be in the gallery. _________________ Lisa Day
